Shildon AFC is delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Lewis Green from Guisborough Town FC.
Lewis’ career started at Hartlepool United Academy and he has a wealth of experience having played for both Consett AFC and Thornaby FC twice, with spells at Easington Colliery AFC (where he worked with Shildon AFC First Team Coach, Craig Hughes), Billingham Town FC, Norton & Stockton Ancients FC and Guisborough also on his CV.
Shildon AFC Manager Chris Hughes commented: “Lewis is a great addition to the squad. We looked at Lewis as an option during last season and in the summer, so to sign him now made sense for us. Lewis brings a lot of technical quality to the team and will support the other midfielders we have at the club. It will also be a good move for Lewis as he will be joining a good group around him, which will help him to continue to develop his game. He had a very good game for Guisborough against us earlier this season, which showed he has the heart to play for this team. He will fit in well with the group and bring a different dynamic to the midfield area. Lewis joins at the right age for us, has experience of playing at a higher level and has his best years ahead of him.
Lewis is is available for selection and will go into the Boxing Day squad against Bishop Auckland FC.
