Shildon AFC is delighted to announce the signing of versatile midfielder Anthony Bell from West Auckland Town FC for an undisclosed fee.
Anthony began his career as a youth player at Darlington before joining Cardiff City’s Development Squad. His journey has since seen him play for Shildon AFC previously, as well as having two spells at West Auckland Town FC. He also spent time at Redcar Athletic FC, where he made 45 appearances and captained the side on several occasions.
Shildon AFC First Team Manager, Chris Hughes, shared his thoughts on the club’s latest signing:
“We are delighted to bring Anthony back to Shildon.
“We fell short in the play offs last season and this signing will bolster the squad to increase our chances of success. Thank you to the board for their support to enable this signing happen.
“Anthony brings experience, quality, hard work and versatility to the squad. We have have several players who have played a lot of games alongside others who have work commitments towards the end of the season. This signing will give additional competition for first team places and provide cover in a range of positions.
“I am sure Anthony will be made to feel welcome on his return to the club”.
