Moore – “we’ve got to start putting points on the board”
Shildon will be in search of a much needed three points when they take on a wavering Whickham side on Wednesday night.
The club head into the next round of mid-week fixtures in the Ebac Northern League division one on the back of a convincing 3-0 dismissal of Tow Law town on Saturday.
Speaking after his sides weekend victory in the FA vase qualifying round, manager Daniel Moore was pleased to see a more assured defensive display as well as the overall performance.
“Pleased with a clean sheet. Build up play in phases was really good. Again, in that final third we had a few chances and didn’t take them but yeah overall, I was pleased. “
Moving onto Wednesday nights matchup Moore anticipates another tough fixture but one the club can be confident and come away with points.
“We’ll go there. Another tough game but we’ve got to start putting points on the board if we’re going to finish in that top three. “
“We have to go there with a bit of confidence with the clean sheet and get a result.”
As for whickham, they enter Wednesday’s game on the back of 4 straight defeats after a strong start to the season and will be in search of a win to get themselves back into the mix at the top of the table.
