Bobby Moore’s first game in charge could not of started better with Lewis Wing scoring in the first 20 seconds. By half time it was a different story with Shildon going in 3-2 down, Billy Greulich-Smith scoring the second.

Whatever was said at half time seemed to make a difference with 4 goals being scored. First an own goal from a corner made the score 3-3 followed by Anthony Bell who converted a penalty. In the last couple of minutes Michael Rae and Lewis Wing scored his second to make the final score

Shildon AFC Manager statement

Shildon AFC have confirmed that their Management Team have resigned.

Chairman David Dent stated “Whilst the circumstances could have been better Gary and Stuart have made an enormous contribution to Shildon AFC over the last few years and we wish them every success in the future. . We are now however entering another exciting chapter in our history and I am delighted that Bobby Moore has accepted the position as Manager. He has along history with Shildon and gets the bigger picture of what we are trying to achieve. I am confident that Bobby can produce a team that can continue to compete against the best teams within the Northern League and who will work alongside the Board and our extremely talented Development Squad to create a sustainable community focused football club here at Dean Street “

FA Vase 4th Round : Shildon 1 Atherton Collieries 4

Shildon were knocked out of the FA Vase with a 4-1 defeat to Atherton Collieries.

Amar Purewal gave Shildon the lead after 55 minutes but 5 minutes later Atherton drew level through a Hardcastle Volley after a mix up in the Shildon defence. 3mins later Battersby glanced a header into the corner of the net to make it 2-1.

On 70mins another header from Lafferty and then on 87 minutes Cover made the final score 4-1.
