A Hard Fought Win
On a windy evening Shildon AFC ground out a hard fought 1 – 0 home win against Dunston UTS on Wednesday 19th March 2014.
Kicking against the wind Craig Ruddy hit the bar after 12 minutes, and then he had a weak shot saved by the keeper just before the break.
It was an uneventful 1st half with neither side able to create any good chances.

With the wind behind them, Shildon scored the only goal of the game on 53 minutes when a long ball from Paul Connor found Ben Wood who fired wide of the keeper Liam Connell.
On 73 minutes Shildon’s Mark Stephenson went off the field with concussion and was taken to hospital.
The game fizzled out with no more opportunities from either side.
