A Disappointing Result

Shildon AFC are now 9th in the league after a disappointing result on Saturday 18th October going down 1 – 0 at Heritage Park, Bishop Auckland.

Despite Shildon’s Ben Wood having three good chances and Bishop’s No 8 Kieran Megran firing over the bar from 5 yards out, it was goalless at half time.

Bishop’s scored the only goal of the game on 51 minutes when a long ball was pounced on by John Butler who ran through and beat keeper Kyle Hayes.

Shildon were not playing well, but pressed for the equalizer. First Jamie Harwood had a clear header, but missed, then Chris Emms hit the bar. Minutes later Paul Connor was through but his shot hit keeper Scott Pocklington.

In time added on Shildon’s Darren Craddock was given his marching orders for a deliberate last man hand ball.
