Match Report

Two Points Lost

After winning 9 games in a row, Shildon AFC were held to a 2 – 2 draw away to Seaham Red Star on Saturday 19th March 2016, when Seaham were awarded a very controversial penalty on the 90th minute.

It was all Shildon in the 1st half with two Micky Rae headers on 25 and 27 minutes giving the Railwaymen a comfortable lead at the break.

Half Time:  Seaham Red Star  0  Shildon AFC  2

Red Star were much better in the 2nd half and on 79 minutes Robbie Bird pegged a goal back scoring from close range.

Just as it looked as though Shildon would hold out for the 3 points, the referee pointed to the spot after what appeared to be a perfectly timed interception by Carl Jones. Despite Shildon protesting, Liam McBryde scored from the spot kick.

Final Score:  Seaham Red Star  2  Shildon AFC  2
