Shildon AFC are out of the F.A. Cup
After a fortunate 1 – 1 draw against Bishop Auckland in the Extra Preliminary Round of the F.A. Cup at Heritage Park on Saturday 15th August 2015, Shildon brought Bishop’s back to Dean Street for the replay on Wednesday 19th August and were second best going down 4 – 2.
A large crowd saw a great game of open football from both sides with 6 cracking goals.
The Twu Blues took the lead on 23 minutes when ex Shildon player No 9 Andy Johnson’s long range drive beat keeper Lewis Graham.
Five minutes later it was 2 – 0 when a Jeff Smith corner was powerfully headed in by the unmarked Ian Ward.
Just before the interval Shildon pulled a goal back when a cross from Matty Robson to Paul Connor for Mark Hudson to fire into the bottom corner.

The Railwaymen were level on 54 minutes when a short free kick from Matty Robson found Lewis Wing whose pile driver gave keeper Mark Bell no chance.
Shildon’s thought of winning the tie were short lived as just 8 minutes later Bishop’s No 7 Stuart Thompson out paced the defence on the right finding Andy Johnson who fired into the roof of the net for 3 – 2 to the visitors.
Searching for the equaliser with 5 minutes remaining, Shildon were caught on the break and gave the ball away to star man Andy Johnson who broke through and fired past Lewis Graham for a great hat trick and game over for Shildon.
