Shildon dented North Shields title hopes with a 2-0 victory at Dean Street.

Matty Robson scored from the spot in the first half when Jamie Harwood was brought down. Michael McKeown was sent off after receiving his second yellow card for the challenge.

Adam Burnicle could have made it two a minute later but shot wide when one on one with the keeper. In the second half Adam Burnicle did get his goal with 10 minutes remaining to make the score 2-0

FA Vase 3rd Round : North Shields 1 Shildon 2

Shildon progress into Monday’s draw of the FA Vase after a 2-1 victory of current Northern League Leaders North Shields.

Micky Rae gave Shildon the lead after 8 mins with a header. In the second half Amar Purewal’s shot was fumbled into the net by the North Shields goalkeeper.

Nick Liversedge was then sent of for Shildon before Denver Morris scored with 15 mins to go, but Shildon held out.

Supporters Coach to North Shields

The Shildon Supporters club are running 2 buses to the last league match of the season against North Shields

There are 5 seats left on the early bus leaving at 10:15 and stopping in Tynemouth and there is 1 seat left on the later bus which is setting off at 1 o’clock.

Both buses will depart from The George

North Shields 2 Shildon 2 (Shildon Win 4-2 on Penalties)

Marske United will be our opponents in the Final of the Northern League Cup.

Lewis Graham was outstanding saving 3 penalties, one in normal time and two in the penalty shoot out after the teams finished 120 mins level at 2-2.

Shildon were in the lead inside the first minute when Anthony Bell went through the defence a lead the kept until the 70th minute. 5 mins earlier Lewis made his first penalty save.

In extra time Shildon regained the lead through Mark Doninger before North Shields again equalised with a minute left of the first half of extra time.
