Shildon AFC is delighted to announce the signing of defender Gary Brown.
Gary is a experienced defender who Shildon fans may remember played for the Club in the 2009/2010 season. He most recently played for West Auckland Town AFC but has also played for Jarrow Roofing, Blyth Spartans, Durham City, Darlington & South Shields.
Shildon AFC First Team Manager, Chris Hughes, said: “Gary is a great signing for the club. His experience, will to win and ability will improve our team and set an example for the rest of the squad. He had several offers from clubs in higher leagues so we are delighted he thought that Shildon is the right place for him to play, he has been with Shildon before and wants to make an impact in supporting us to win the league.
Gary is aggressive in both boxes, communicates well and is a ball playing centre back. I have watched him play several times in the past two seasons and what stood out was how supportive he was of the younger players on the teams he played for. Gary will set a high standard and raise everyones game at the club.”
