Shildon AFC is delighted to announce that Aidan Stephenson has been appointed as our Head of Youth Development. Aidan’s appointment marks a defining moment for our youth set up as we continue to grow and improve in line with Shildon AFC’s core values.
Aidan brings a wealth of coaching experience and technical knowledge to this role having gained bachelor’s and master’s degrees alongside his UEFA C Coaching License. Throughout his tenure with the club he has fulfilled many roles and was key to Shildon AFC Youth’s smooth transition into our new facility at Dean Street.
While his technical expertise is undeniable, it is his unwavering commitment, integrity, work ethic, and a relentless pursuit of excellence that made him the natural choice for this leadership role.
Aidan hasn’t just earned this position – he embodies it. He is the living blueprint for our coaching staff and young players alike. A firm believer that we develop the person before the player, Aidan models the humility and discipline we expect from every player who wears our badge.
Along with overseeing the daily running of Shildon AFC Youth, Aidan will implement our coaching philosophy and methodology for player development to provide children of all ages and abilities access to organised and competitive football in a safe, enjoyable, respectful and nurturing environment.
