Chairman’s Update

The weekend defeat to West Auckland was extremely tough to take for everyone who has put their heart and soul into this Club.  Congratulations to West Auckland, we didn’t perform in decisive moments to put the game to bed, and at the end of the day they deserved their victory!!  To the volunteers I’m indebted and the supporters and sponsors a massive thank you.  Your support in turning this Club into a real asset for our community is unbelievable and you should be really proud.

While we are devastated not be playing in Step 4 next season, we must look at what we have built.  Our gates are up, our facilities are the envy of the rest of the League, our revenue streams are diverse, our Youth set up is thriving, we enjoy the support of some loyal blue chip sponsors, our Ladies team have had a successful season and got to a Cup Final in their inaugural season.  We are an established team who now consistently operate at the very top of the table.

Yes, we came up short but the players have been brilliant this season.  Massive thanks to everyone of you!!  Some will undoubtedly leave and we wish them all the best but this Club is now an attractive option when we recruit new players to improve a talented squad.

The investment in our infrastructure is already made. The ambition of this board remains. We will take a moment to reflect but our goal for next season is already in place. We will go again!!.

Thank you for your support it means the world to me and Di!!
