Talk in with Andy Campbell at Shildon AFC Social Club

There will be a talk in with former Middlesbrough FC Striker Andy Campbell on Friday 18th May, 8pm Start

Entry is free and all are welcome to attend.

Born in Middlesbrough, Campbell started his career with his hometown team Middlesbrough, whom he left for Cardiff City for £1m. Some of his career highlights include scoring against Manchester United in the FA Cup in a 2–0 win for Middlesbrough, and also playing for his country at under 21 level. His Cardiff career got off to an explosive start, scoring 6 times in his first 4 appearances. He scored once on his debut against Northampton, twice on his third appearance against Blackpool and a hat-trick in his fourth appearance against Oldham. Overall, he had two fairly productive years at the beginning of his spell at Ninian Park, including a fine lob over goalkeeper Chris Day at the Millennium Stadium to give Cardiff a play-off victory over Queens Park Rangers to put them into the Football League Championship.

May Half Term Football Course in Shildon

The Foundation of Light are delighted to announce that we will be running a two day football course at Shildon Sunnydale Leisure Centre during the May Half Term holidays for 5-14 year olds.

Two day football course – Thursday 31st May and Friday 1st June, 10am-3pm for 5-14 year olds – £20 per child

ENL1 RESULT | Shildon 3 Ryhope CW 2

Shildon finished 3rd in the Ebac Northern League Division One after a 3-2 victory against Ryhope CW at Dean Street.

Carl Jones scored to give Shildon the lead 7 minutes into the game. Just before half time Stephen Ramsey scored to send the teams in level at half time.

2 minutes into the second half Billy Greulich-Smith gave Shildon the lead heading in from close range. Matty Robson then ran the full length of the pitch to score and make it 3-1. Stephen Ramsey then scored his second of the game to make the final score Shildon 3 Ryhope CW 2.

Shildon produced an excellent performance after going a goal down to Ryhope.

Three goals in 5 minutes turned the game after James Ellis gave Ryhope the lead.

The 1st was an own goal from Ben Riding, the second was from Billy Greulich-Smith with a towering header from a corner and then from a Billy Cross, Jamie Harwood finished the scoring from close range.

Our last game of the season is this Saturday against Ryhope, Kick off 3pm

ENL1 RESULT | Whitley Bay 0 Shildon 6

Shildon can still finish in 3rd place after a 6-0 victory away to Whitley Bay and West Auckland’s defeat at Ryhope CW.

Both of Shildon’s games in hand are against Ryhope CW, away this Thursday and at home on Saturday.

Tonight’s goalscorers were Billy Greulich-Smith, Daniel Moore, Kyle Patton, Sam Hodgson, Marc Ellison and an own goal.

ENL1 RESULT | Newcastle Benfield 4 Shildon 2

Shildon conceded four goals in the second half to give all the points to Newcastle Benfield.

Dan Groves and Billy Greulich-Smith gave Shildon a great start and send them in at half time 2-0 up.

In the second half Benfield’s goals were scored by Jake Orrell, Paul Brayson and two from Scott McCarthy.

ENL1 RESULT | Ashington 1 Shildon 2

Shildon move back to 4th position in the Northern League after a 2-1 victory away to Ashington.

Billy Greulich-Smith gave Shildon the lead half way through the first half putting the ball under the keeper after good work from Duell and Gell.  Stephenson levelled for the hosts with a header just before half time.

After 66 minutes Matty Waters restored Shildon’s lead. 12 minutes later Matty Robson hit a penalty over the bar after Billy Greulich- Smith was brought down in the box.

Best Wishes to Ashington goalkeeper Conor Grant who was taken to hospital during the game.

Next game is on Thursday at home to Newcastle Benfield, Kick Off 7:30pm
