Having developed through Middlesbrough’s academy, Sam was a scholar at Huddersfield Town, where he gained valuable experience on loan at Northallerton Town. He later spent eighteen months as a professional at York City before joining Billingham Synthonia on loan where he played during the 2024/25 season.
