Easter Holiday Activities are Back!
Shildon AFC CIC is delighted to confirm that our hugely popular Easter Holiday Activites Programme is back and will be held between the 3rd and 6th of April 2023.
Support for this year’s programme has been given by Bishop Auckland and Shildon Area Action Partnership, Livin and the Hays Travel Foundation.
The activities will be held on the Community Garden at Dean Street with coaching sessions run by Shildon AFC Captain, Ben Trotter.
Shildon AFC Chairman, David Dent said: “We are true community football club and this programme enables us to help members of our community but at the same time give the children some structured play and fun. We’ve been doing this programme for some time and our investment in the Community Garden and our separate CIC company now allows us to step up our activities. We are delighted to have secured long term funding from Hays Travel Foundation and also from Livin and the AAP to make the activities FREE to everyone. We look forward to welcoming all children along and we hope they enjoy the week with us”.
The places on the scheme are offered to the children of Livin residents initially and then will be offered for everybody to apply (children must be aged 8-12 years).
Each session will run from 10:00am to 3:00pm and every child will be offered breakfast and lunch with drinks also available. The programme is absolutely free to all the children who are offered a place.
Children should wear appropriate footwear to play football on the all weather surface.
We look forward to welcoming all the children during the Easter holidays.

Ben Dibb-Fuller Joins the Railwaymen
Shildon AFC is delighted to announce the signing of forward Ben Dibb-Fuller from Newcastle Benfield FC.
Ben’s previous clubs include Newton Aycliffe, Hebburn Town and Team Northumbria.
Shildon AFC Manager, Chris Hughes said: “This is a really important signing for Shildon and how we want to continue to improve as a team.
Ben fits in perfectly to how we want to play and the system we are using. He is capable of playing on both flanks and I am sure he is someone the fans will enjoy watching. Alongside his football ability, we are signing a good person who will fit in alongside the other top characters we have at the club.
We have watched him several times over the years and also had the benefit of access to our videos for games earlier in the season against Newcastle Benfield.
Ben knows a few players in the squad so we expect him to settle in quickly and contribute in games starting on Saturday against Tadcaster”.
Welcome to Shildon AFC Ben.
Ben Reay Signs New Deal
Shildon AFC is delighted to announce that Ben Reay has signed a new contract with the Club until the end of the 2023/24 season.
Shildon AFC Manager, Chris Hughes commented: “We are delighted that Ben has committed to Shildon for the remainder of this season and next.
Since joining us, he has become and important part of how we play. He has contributed with goals and assists from his position wide or centrally. His role out of possession is also key and can often go unnoticed by some.
Ben is the kind of player we will continue to look to recruit. He plays for the team, works really hard, is tactically aware and is very capable on the ball.”
Congratulations on the new deal Ben.
