Announcement on the 2020-21 FA Vase

Further to the announcement from The FA today (https://www.thefa.com/news/2021/feb/24/nls-steps-3-6-update-20210224) we write to confirm that it is the intention that The Buildbase FA Vase shall continue, on the basis that the road map is implemented as set out by the Government earlier this week.

We are currently liaising with the relevant parties with regards to a revised schedule for the Competition and will communicate this along with other details (such as emergency Rule amendments or modifications) as soon as these have been finalised. Please note that due to time limitations, the Competition will resume at the earliest opportunity (meaning that all Clubs should be prepared to resume playing FA Vase fixtures in early April) to ensure that all remaining fixtures can be played and the Competition can be completed in its usual format.

Match Preview v Sunderland RCA by Adam Gill

Sunderland RCA vs Shildon: Match Preview

Shildon travel to the Sunderland LGV Park to face Sunderland RCA in the FA Vase Second Qualifying Round.

The Railwaymen overcame the challenge of Chester-Le-Street in the First Round Qualifying, whilst RCA went straight into the second round.

The visitors are on good form, having won their last two league games against Seaham Red Star and Bishop Auckland.

Ahead of a busy October month, a win would certainly help to keep momentum going for their upcoming league fixtures.

Having lost their previous two league games, against Billingham Town and Ashington, RCA will be hopeful to get back to winning ways.

Billy Greulich-Smith remains out, however there is no further injury concerns ahead of the game.
