Shildon AFC are delighted to announce the signing of Vinnie Steels. Vinne started his career with Darlington FC before moving to York in 2017/18. He then played for Burnley U23’s (2018/19) and Sunderland U23’s (2020/21).

Jamie Tunstall, Shildon AFC Manager said: “I’m absolutely delighted to welcome Vinnie to the football club. Vinnie’s time in football has predominantly been at elite level and he’s a fantastic addition to an already really strong squad. He’s come in and trained really well and scored a couple of goals in the games he’s played and I think there’s a lot more to come from him when he’s fully up to speed. He’s not played a lot of football over the last 12 to 18 months and still has aspirations to get back into the professional game and the fact he’s chosen to come to Shildon shows the ambition the club has. I’m sure he’ll be a huge asset to the football club” .
