Coming Soon to Dean Street….

PREMIER, CHAMPIONS AND EUROPA LEAGUE AT THE CLUBHOUSE

As if there wasn’t enough reason to head for the Shildon Clubhouse, the latest news that the club will be installing BT Sport on Monday 21st September is yet another.

From then, fans will be able to enjoy live Premier and Scottish League games on Friday nights and Saturday mornings; live European football on Saturday evenings; live Champions League matches on Tuesdays and Wednesdays on the only UK channel with exclusive CL rights and live Europa League action on Thursday evenings.

So, if you want to enjoy a Premier League match on Saturday morning, what better way than in the clubhouse before wandering outside to see the BIG match kick off at Dean Street in the afternoon.

The first Premier League match available in the clubhouse will be Tottenham Hotspur v Manchester City on Saturday 26th September from 12 noon while customers can enjoy a choice of Champions League action (including Arsenal v Olympiakos and Porto v Chelsea) from Tuesday 29th September.

The first Europa League match available will be Monaco v Tottenham from 6pm on Thursday 1st October followed by Celtic v Fenerbahce from 8pm the same evening.

See you all there!

Washington 4 Shildon 2

Shildon AFC Beaten by Washington

Top of the league Shildon AFC travelled to second placed Washington FC on Tuesday 8th September 2015 in the Ebac Northern League, with the Railwaymen going down 4 – 2.

The Mechanics are the surprise team of the season, having not lost a single game so far in all competitions.

They were ahead after just 90 seconds when captain Mark Davison fired past Shildon’s stand in keeper Jake Johnson.

Shildon thought they had equalised after 6 minutes but Mark Doninger’s shot was ruled off side. However, they did level on 11 minutes when Paul Connor found Jonathan Davis.

Half Time:  Washington FC  1  Shildon AFC  1

Washington were ahead straight from the kick off when a right wing cross found Michael Cochrane whose long range drive beat injured keeper Johnson.

The home side piled on the pressure with Shildon’s Dan groves clearing off the line.

It was 3 – 1 on 69 minutes when a right corner gave Ross Preston a free header. Minutes later Washington’s Michael Coglan’s free kick hit the bar.

Against the run of play Shildon pulled a goal back when Bobby Moore fired low into the bottom corner.

Washington extended their lead on 80 minutes when John Butler head home from close range.

Final Score:  Washington FC  4  Shildon AFC  2

Goalscorers:  Davis 76, Moore 76.

Subs:  Hudson for Wing 63, Greulich-Smith for Fryatt 75, Wood for Davis 75.

Man-of-the-Match:  Gary Brown

Shildon can have no qualms about the result as Washington were the far better side on the night, particularly in the second half.
