It’s Volunteers Week and Shildon AFC would like to take the opportunity to once again thank all the volunteers who offer their time and energy in supporting the activities of the football club, without them it would be impossible to do what we do.
We are always on the lookout for more people to join us, there are number of roles around the club for volunteers (and they are not just on matchdays!):
– Groundskeepers: Volunteers who maintain the club’s playing surfaces, including mowing the grass, marking the lines, and general pitch upkeep.
– Maintenance Operatives: Volunteers who help with the general maintenance of the gound and its facilities.
– Matchday Stewards: Volunteers who help with crowd management, ticketing, and ensuring the safety and security of spectators during matches.
– Equipment Manager: Responsible for managing the club’s equipment, including inventory, maintenance, and distribution to teams.
– Fundraisers: Volunteers who organize events, campaigns, and initiatives to raise funds for the club’s activities, equipment, or facilities.
– Social Media Manager: Handles the club’s social media presence, creating and posting content, engaging with fans, and promoting the club’s activities.
– First Aid and Medical Support: Volunteers with medical training who provide first aid and medical assistance during training sessions and matches.
– Marketing and Sponsorship: Volunteers who help secure sponsorships, develop marketing strategies, and promote the club in the local community.
– Hospitality and Catering: Volunteers who assist with matchday hospitality, including managing food and beverage services, hosting guests, and organizing events.
– Matchday Programme Editor: Volunteers who compile, edit and produce the home matchday programme, liaising with club management, sponosors and content creators.
