Shildon AFC is pleased to announce the signing of Jack Blackford on a permanent deal from Bishop Auckland FC.
Jack progressed through the youth academy at Hartlepool United FC, during his development, he attracted significant attention, earning professional trials with Manchester City FC, Aston Villa, and West Bromwich Albion. He will be familiar to Shildon suporters having originally arrived at the club on loan back in 2017 from Hartlepool, leaving to join Marske United in 2021. Jack has also had spells at Guisborough Town, Newton Aycliffe, Redcar Athletic & Bishop Auckland.
Shildon AFC First Team Manager, Chris Hughes commented:
The signing of Jack came out of the blue over the summer. We were not expecting him to be available but as soon we knew he was we were in touch straight away. It was a very straight forward conversation with Jack. He knows how we play, knows several players who play for us and have recently played for us and has been with he club previously. Jack will bring excitement for the supporters, high quality technical performances on the pitch and goal contributions via assists and scoring. He is keen to develop his game still and that says a lot for someone who has done what he has in the game. He will join a group of experienced players in the squad who we all know can operate at higher levels.”
