The hosts showcased a clinical edge in front of goal during a chaotic first half, maintaining their momentum to secure a vital league win.

The match opened with Shildon applying early pressure, creating a few initial opportunities before finally finding their rhythm. The breakthrough arrived in the 16th minute when Leighton Harris threaded a precise pass to Joe Posthill, who calmly dispatched the ball past the advancing Birtley goalkeeper. The final twenty-seven minutes proved a much more measured affair. Shildon continued to dictate play and engineered several late chances to further inflate the total, but the Birtley defense managed to avoid further damage.
