Goal‑Fest at Dean Street as Shildon Make It Three Straight Fours

Shildon made it three games in a row with four goals as they came out on top in a breathless, end‑to‑end contest against Newcastle Blue Star.

The tone was set early. On six minutes, Alfie Steel timed his run perfectly, meeting a through ball and calmly side‑footing past the advancing goalkeeper to give Shildon the ideal start. But in a first half where defending often took a back seat, the visitors hit back quickly — an excellent far‑post header levelling the score on 11 minutes.

The chaos continued. Shildon regained the lead on 21 minutes in unusual fashion when Conner Macleod, attempting to deal with a cross, looped a header over his own keeper. Barely a minute later, Jack Blackford punished more hesitant defending, drilling home from the edge of the box to make it 3–1.

Blue Star refused to fold, and by the 28th minute they had reduced the deficit again. Jakub Zych converted from the spot — his second of the afternoon — after Ethan Scott was judged to have fouled Alfie Coulthard inside the area.

After a first half that felt like a goal every five minutes, the second period tightened considerably. Shildon controlled the tempo, kept their shape, and waited for the moment to kill the game. It finally arrived deep into stoppage time when Billy Greulich Smith struck in the 92nd minute to seal a deserved 4–2 victory.

Another strong showing from Shildon, who continue their free‑scoring form with a third consecutive four‑goal performance.
