Shildon came from a goal down to beat Newcastle Benfield at Sam Smith’s park.
Dale Pearson gave Newcastle Benfield the perfect start after 2 minutes with a volley from 20 yards that flew into the top corner of the net.
Shildon then had a few chances in the first half with new signing Zak Atkinson twice going close and Brad Hird with a header from close range.
Straight from the restart Shildon were level when Atkinson went down the right and crossed for Hird to level from close range.
Billy Greulich-Smith then went through the centre of the Benfield defence to make it 2-1 after 65 mins.
Nathan Steel finished the scoring in the 88th minute with a neat turn and finish to cap a very good team performance.
