Ben Dibb-Fuller Joins the Railwaymen

Shildon AFC is delighted to announce the signing of forward Ben Dibb-Fuller from Newcastle Benfield FC.

Ben’s previous clubs include Newton Aycliffe, Hebburn Town and Team Northumbria.

Shildon AFC Manager, Chris Hughes said: “This is a really important signing for Shildon and how we want to continue to improve as a team.

Ben fits in perfectly to how we want to play and the system we are using. He is capable of playing on both flanks and I am sure he is someone the fans will enjoy watching. Alongside his football ability, we are signing a good person who will fit in alongside the other top characters we have at the club.

We have watched him several times over the years and also had the benefit of access to our videos for games earlier in the season against Newcastle Benfield.

Ben knows a few players in the squad so we expect him to settle in quickly and contribute in games starting on Saturday against Tadcaster”.

Welcome to Shildon AFC Ben.

Ben Reay Signs New Deal

Shildon AFC is delighted to announce that Ben Reay has signed a new contract with the Club until the end of the 2023/24 season.

Shildon AFC Manager, Chris Hughes commented: “We are delighted that Ben has committed to Shildon for the remainder of this season and next.

Since joining us, he has become and important part of how we play. He has contributed with goals and assists from his position wide or centrally. His role out of possession is also key and can often go unnoticed by some.

Ben is the kind of player we will continue to look to recruit. He plays for the team, works really hard, is tactically aware and is very capable on the ball.”

Congratulations on the new deal Ben.

Railwaymen Announce Two New Signings

Shildon AFC is delighted to announce the signing of two new players.  Both arrive from Sunderland RCA,  with Max Allen being a midfielder/defender, and Keaton Marrs, a goalkeeper.

Max has played at Sunderland RCA since 2019 having joined them from Newcastle United U18’s.  He is a player who is comfortable in a number of positions in both defence and midfield.

Keaton is a goalkeeper who has been with Sunderland RCA since 2020 with his previous clubs including Morpeth Town AFC, IFK Mora in Sweden, Mansfield Town FC, Middlesbrough FC and Newcastle United FC.

Shildon AFC Manager, Chris Hughes, commented: “We are delighted to bring Keaton and Max to the club.  Keaton will be a replacement for Matty Bateman.  We expect Keaton to push Harrison for a starting place this season and it will give him a chance to work with us with a view to the goalkeeping position next season.

Everyone at Shildon would like to wish Matty the best as he leaves the club to secure first team football elsewhere. We have supported Matty to make this move happen as quick as possible so he can make the most of the remainder of this season. It is a shame that he is leaving as we all know the potential he has to be a top keeper in the future.

Max is someone we have been tracking for a while now and were looking at him to be a key summer signing for us.  Due to the unfortunate circumstances at Sunderland RCA, we have been able to make this happen earlier than planned. Max can play in multiple positions and will bring further quality to the squad.  He is the type of character we want at the club and I am sure supporters will enjoy watching him play for Shildon”.

Both players go into squad immediately and are available for selection at Saturday’s away game against Ossett United FC.

Shildon AFC would like to put on record their thanks to Rob Jones and Sunderland RCA for their help in these matters.
