Shildon dented North Shields title hopes with a 2-0 victory at Dean Street.
Matty Robson scored from the spot in the first half when Jamie Harwood was brought down. Michael McKeown was sent off after receiving his second yellow card for the challenge.
Adam Burnicle could have made it two a minute later but shot wide when one on one with the keeper. In the second half Adam Burnicle did get his goal with 10 minutes remaining to make the score 2-0

League Cup : Shildon 1 South Shields 4
Shildon were knocked out of the League Cup, losing 4-1 to South Shields.
Micky Rae gave Shildon an early lead slotting past keeper Connell. 7 Minutes later South Shields were awarded a penalty when Jamie Harwood was harshly penalised for an alleged foul on South Shields forward Jordan Blinco, to everyone’s amazement then Jamie was sent off leaving Shildon 78 minutes to play with 10 men.
Carl Finnigan scored the penalty to level, then 2 furthe goals for Jordan Blinco and another for Finnigan in the second half set up a tie against North Shields in the Final.

Scholarship Recruiting for New Season
The Shildon SAFC Foundation of Light Scholars are recruiting for the New Season. The open evening is next Tuesday 21st March @ 6pm in the Shildon AFC Social Club.
Foundation of Light’s Football Scholarship gives 16-18 year olds the opportunity to represent Sunderland AFC and gain nationally recognised qualifications through an intensive football and education programme.
Students will study towards a full-time BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Sport Performance and Excellence under the expert guidance of the Foundation’s Further Education Officers.
In addition to progressing academically, students will compete in the FA National Under 19 Development League against other Premier League and English Football League (EFL) development players.
Working with UEFA A and UEFA B qualified coaches, the football training schedule mirrors that of professional football academies helping bridge the gap between grassroots and elite youth football.
Players have the opportunity to be recruited by professional and semi-professional football clubs; go on to higher education at home or abroad as well as pursuing careers in coaching, sports science, sports journalism or physiotherapy.
Foundation of Light’s Football Scholarship is delivered in partnership with Monkwearmouth Sixth Form Academy, South Tyneside College, Shildon AFC and sponsored by Leading dispensed soft drink suppliers ABCO-Anderson Beverage Company Limited.

Lewis Wing signs pre-contract agreement with Middlesbrough
Lewis Wing signs pre-contract agreement with Middlesbrough
Shildon’s current top scorer Lewis Wing has signed a pre-contract agreement with Premier League Middlesbrough.
This is a fantastic achievement for him and the club wish him all the best with his future career.
As part of the deal Middlesbrough have agreed to play Shildon in a pre-season friendly. In the meantime the agreement enables him to stay at Shildon for the remainder of the season.
Lewis signed for Shildon for the 2015/16 season from Seaham Red Star where he was named runner up Northern League young player of the year after scoring 22 goals. This season he has currently scored 31 goals from Midfield including two hat-tricks in the last three games.

ENL 1 : Guisborough Town 2 Shildon 4
10 men Shildon came from a goal down to run out 4-2 winners against Guisborough Town.
Matty Robson had a penalty saved but scored the rebound and Lewis Wing scored his second hat-trick in 3 games. Matt Robson was sent off after 40 minutes for bringing down a Guisborough player when he was through on goal.
