Shildon Under 12’s 4 Darlington All Stars 2

Today in terrible conditions,  Shildon under 12′ s faced Darlington All Stars at the Scouts Field.
All Stars  were first on the score sheet catching Shildon on the break. Shildon quickly responded with a well taken solo goal from Anth Jary followed by another from Cole Layfield who was quick to convert a parried shot.

All Stars started the second half well levelling the score, again catching Shildon on the break.
All Stars were awarded a penalty when their centre forward was judged to have been fouled just inside the box.
Elliott Finch in Shildon goal produced a great save to his left keeping the score level.
Shildon started to dominate the play resulting in Cole Layfield heading a fantastic goal for his second, putting Shildon ahead.
The game was put beyond doubt when Anth Jary scored his second, one of his trademark goals from 30 yards out.
MOTM was awarded to Anth Jary although every one of the Shildon players gave 100%.

ENL1 : Seaham Red Star 2 Shildon 2

Shildon and Seaham shared the spoils after a 2-2 draw at the Ferguson Motor Repairs Stadium.

Seaham took the lead through Robbie Bird then Micky Rae equalised for Shildon and Paul Connor scored a header just before half time. In the second half ex Shildon player Warren Byrne scored with a header to make the final score 2-2.

Seaham had several one on one chances in the second half and Shildon went close through Purewal and Connor.

ENL 1 : Shildon 0 South Shields 1

Shildon stay in third position in the Ebac Northern League after a Gavin Cogden strike gave the visitors all three points.

After a goalless first half which saw both teams hit the post with free kicks Shildon’s Jamie Harwood was sent off for a second bookable offence in the 53rd minute. The all important goal came in the 69th minute when Cogden was put through by ex Shildon player Briggs to fire past the keeper.

ENL 1 : Shildon 3 Newton Aycliffe 2

The Derby Day bragging rights are with Shildon after a 3-2 victory over Newton Aycliffe this afternoon.

Shildon raced into a 3-0 lead with goals from Micky Rae, Paul Connor and Billy Greulich-Smith. Just before half time Dennis Knight curled a free kick into the bottom corner to make it 3-1.

Knight then made it 3-2 in the second half with a header from a cross. Shildon had a few chances to make the game safe, but at the final whistle it finished Shildon 3 Newton Aycliffe 2.
