FA Cup 4QR: Guiseley 6 Shildon 0
Shildon went out of the FA Cup with a 6-0 defeat at Guiseley.
An even first half ended 0-0 with Shildon creating the best chance when Harwood found Lewis Dodds free in the box, but his shot was saved by the Guiseley keeper. Shildon’s defence was outstanding in the first half holding out well against a side looking to get the ball launched forward at every opportunity.
In the second half Guiseley scored 3 in the first 15 minutes through Fondop, Holden and a penalty from Rooney which Kyle May sent off for conceding. 3 Further goals, 2 from Hatfield and Fondop’s second made the final score 6-0.
Shildon can hold their heads high for a cup run that started back on the 5th August
5th August – EP – Morpeth (H) – 2-0
18th August – P – Guisborough Town (A) – 5-1
2nd September – 1QR – Bottesford (A) – 1-0
16th September – 2QR – Altrincham (H) – 1-0
30th September – 3QR – Banbury Utd (A) – 3-2
14th October – 4QR – Guiseley (A) – 0-6
Let’s all get behind the team in the proper way and make this a special day out
Shildon travel to Guiseley on Saturday, hoping for a good result.
The Club knows that there are a good number of supporters travelling to the game. We are sure this fantastic show of support will help spur the team on to a great performance, but most importantly fans should make sure that they arrive early for the game, especially as roads will be very busy with closure of the A1 North & South between J51 (Leeming Bar and Scotch Corner).
Shildon Football Club is proud of its community and family based support and cannot, and will not, tolerate inappropriate behaviour or crowd disturbance of any kind. The Board of Directors is ultimately responsible for the conduct of the Club’s supporters at all our football matches and, with your help, we will do everything possible to eradicate the very small minority, of either individuals or small groups, who purport to represent the Club in an inappropriate manner.
The Club will work with the police and other authorities to investigate any reported incident of crowd disturbance and identify perpetrators and take the most severe sanction available to it. We will not tolerate any unruly behaviour, and will assist the police in any prosecutions.
So let’s all get behind the team in the proper way and make this a special day out for all the right reasons
