FA Cup : Workington 3 Shildon 1

Shildon are out of the FA Cup after a 3-1 defeat to Evo-Stik premier league club  Workington.

In an even 1st half Shildon found themselves a goal down from a strike from Scot Allison. Shildon had there chances to go in level including David Ferguson having a penalty saved.

In the second half Workington went into a 3-0 lead with further goals from Conor Tinnion and Joe McGee. Billy Greulich-Smith pulled a goal back from the penalty spot to make the final score

ENL1 : Shildon 4 Guisborough Town 1

Shildon moved to 3rd place in the Ebac Northern League Division One with a 4-1 victory against Guisborough Town.

Lewis Wing opened the scoring for Shildon with a shot from 20 yards, then captain Bobby Moore added a second with a volley into the roof of the net. Just before half time Steve Roberts scored for Guisborough to make the score 2-1.

After the break goals from Billy Greulich-Smith and Paul Connor with virtually the last kick of the game  made the final score

FA Cup : Supporters Club Coach update

On Saturday the supporters club coach will leave from the car park behind The George at 10am.

The bus will be stopping at Cockermouth on the way to Workington and will be coming straight back to Shildon after the match.

ENL1 : Morpeth Town 2 Shildon 1

Shildon are in 4th position in the Ebac Northern League after a 2-1 defeat to last years FA Vase winners Morpeth Town.

Starting brightly Shildon took the lead just before the half hour mark when Paul Connor scored his 8th goal of the season. Just before half time Michael Chilton scored the equaliser. Both teams had good chances to win the game but it was Paul Robinson who scored to give Morpeth the win.

ENL1 : Newcastle Benfield 0 Shildon 0

A hard fought 0-0 draw kept Shildon’s unbeaten run going at Newcastle Benfield.

In the second half Shildon applied pressure to the Benfield goal, but the goal wouldn’t come. A free kick from Lewis Wing was tipped over by Benfield keeper Andrew Grainger and the keeper again saved at the feet of Micky Rae when the striker was clean through.

At the other end Nick Liversedge made a a good save to make sure the honours were even.
