Shildon wil play Kendal Town in the Preliminary Round of the FA Cup after a 6-1 victory against Bedlington Terriers.
Shildon after going 1-0 down with a Marcus Brown goal replied with goals from Lewis Wing, Sam Hodgson, Ben Wood and a hat trick from David Ferguson.
Bedlington Terriers will visit Dean Street in the FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round.
The winners of the tie will be at home to Kendal Town of the Evostick North League in the FA Cup Preliminary Round
Shildon maintained their 16 point lead at the top of the Ebac Northern League with a 6-1 victory away to Bedlington Terriers and Marske United also winning against Sunderland RCA 3-0
Goals coming from Billy Greulich-Smith, Anthony Bell x 2, Ben Wood x 2 and Substitute Mark Doninger.

Shildon Continue Their Winning Ways
After losing midweek in the F.A. Cup against Bishop Auckland, the Railwaymen continued their winning ways in the league with a 2 – 0 home victory against Bedlington Terriers on Saturday 22nd August 2015. Shildon are now 2nd in the league with a game in hand. They have played 3 won 3 with 15 goals scored and none conceded.
As expected Shildon piled on the pressure from the kick off and should have been ahead after just 5 minutes but Micky Rae’s shot from 4 yards out was weak.
Kyle Fryatt was causing problems down the right with his pace and on 26 minutes Shildon were awarded a penalty when he was brought down in the box by Marc Dummett. Ex Bedlington player Mark Doninger scored from the spot kick sending the keeper the wrong way.
Five minutes later Terriers were awarded a penalty when Matty Robson brought down Dean Briggs, but Briggs spot kick rattled against the bar.
Terriers were pressing for the equaliser, putting Shildon under pressure, with a Liam Hudson shot cleared off the line by Carl Jones.
Just before the break Shildon’s Kyle Fryatt side footed past the keeper, but the ball hit the post.

Just after the hour Shildon were awarded their 2nd penalty when the same player Marc Dummett brought down Kyle Fryatt again, for Mark Doninger to score his 2nd goal of the game from the spot kick. Mark has now scored 7 league goals in just 3 games.
Although Shildon dominated the play they were trying to walk the ball into the net instead of having a shot.
Near the end Paul Connor had a one on one with keeper Frazer Nairn saving well, and Nairn also blocked a shot with his feet from man of the match Lewis Wing.

It Was Not To Be
Shildon AFC dreams of winning the EBAC Northern League for the first time in 75 years were shattered on Wednesday 29th April 2015 when they were held to a 1 – 1 draw at Bedlington Town. The Railwaymen needed all three points to lift the title.
Marske are now champions on 90 points with Shildon one point behind on 89.
Prior to kick off the match had been labelled a formality for Shildon as Terriers were in free fall and were winless in 11 games prior to tonight.
Shildon dominated play from the start with Terriers defending in numbers throughout the game.
After chances from Mark Doinger, Billy Greulich-Smith and Mark Hudson, against the run of play, Terriers were ahead on 32 minutes when a through ball found Lee Scott, who looked to be well off-side, as he fired a left foot shot past keeper Lewis Graham.

In the second half Shildon continued to control the play and were rewarded on 64 minutes when a cross from Ben Wood was headed home by Billy Greulich-Smith for 1 – 1.
It was one way traffic as Shildon searched for the winner. Despite corner after corner and missed chances the final whistle blew and the deflated Railwaymen had failed to capitalise on their superiority.
