Shildon moved back to the top of the Ebac Northern League Division One with a 4-0 victory over local rivals West Auckland.

On a pitch that was heavy going from the start Shildon still played the ball well and adapted better to the conditions.

By half time the score was 3-0 to Shildon with Anthony Bell scoring 2 (1 Pen) and also supplying the cross for Ben Wood to score.

At half time the referee stayed out with his assistants to have a good look at the pitch but deemed it fit enough play on.

Anthony Bell completed his hat trick and the scoring for Shildon in the second half.

With 20 mins to go Bobby Moore was given a red card for a tackle on Adam Burnicle when he was through on goal.

Man-of-The-Match

Norton & Stockton Ancients 1 Shildon 4

Shildon moved two points behind current league leaders Morpeth with a 4-1 win in blustery conditions.

Kicking against the wind in the first half, Shildon scored through Daniel Moore after Jamie Harwood headed the ball back across the goal from a Bell free kick.

After the break Shildon increased their lead with goals from Dodds who tapped into an empty net from a Bell cross and then Moore guided the ball into the net from another Bell free kick. Charmey pulled a goal back for Norton with a shot from the edge of the box before Fryatt finished the scoring with a well-placed shot to the goalkeeper’s right.

Both teams have to be given credit for trying to play football in awful conditions.

Final Score: Norton & Stockton Ancients 1 Shildon 4

Shildon’s next game is away to Ashington on the 12th December, Kick Off 3pm
