Shildon AFC treasurer Diane Dent along with director Norman Smith and captain Ben Trotter, have spent the weeks running up to Christmas raising the awareness of the need for essential food items,to give to families over the seasonal period.
The club has collected over £400 of essentials which has been matched by their sponsor, homes and communities organisation Livin.
Diane Dent said : ”we are a community club and we are delighted that with the help of our club sponsors Livin, we’ve been able to help those in our community that need it most, especially at this time of year. We hope to do more for our community in the coming months and years”
Zara Duncanson, Shildon Alive volunteer said, “we are so overwhelmed and grateful for the donations, they will go along way to helping a lot of people this Christmas.”

Manager and players visited the Children’s Ward at Darlington Memorial Hospital this week to spread a little Christmas cheer.

Daniel Moore said: “It’s nice to put a smile on their faces when they are having a bit of a tough time. It is something that we can give back. The afternoon went really well and we were able to leave some presents for children who might have to visit the ward over the Christmas period too.” Jayne Auld, ward manager, said, “We are very grateful for the gifts which we know will be very welcomed by the children and their families.”

We are delighted to announce that Dale Mulligan has today completed his transfer from Stockton Town.
Dale is an old school centre half, big and strong with a great never say die attitude. He is a no nonsense player, good in the air and loves a tackle. He has a lot of experience in the Northern League having played for Billingham Synthonia, Norton & Stockton Ancients and Marske United.
Welcome to the club Dale.
Ben Trotter scored for Shildon to earn a point away to Penrith.

Former Shildon striker Martyn Coleman came closest for Penrith hitting the post with a half volley from the 18 yard line. Ben’s goal came on 41mins when the ball fell to him on the edge of the box and he hit an unstoppable shot into the net.
On the stroke of half time Penrith levelled. A shot from Grant Davidson was deflected into his own net by Aidan Heywood.
