As per the governments latest guidelines, we can now welcome supporters back into Dean Street albeit with a reduced capacity.

Currently the capacity that we are allowed to admit is 150, so we have created an application form so that supporters can apply to attend.

The applications will be dealt with in date and time received and are for a maximum of 4 tickets.

We will also require you to enter names and telephone numbers for those attending to comply with the governments Track & Trace policy.

Shildon v Willington, match report by Adam Gill

Shildon 8-1 Willington: Match Report

Shildon produced a dominant display as they swept aside Willington in their fourth pre-season friendly at Dean Street.

Billy Greulich-Smith gave the home side the lead, before a Nicholas Smith own goal and a Danny Craggs penalty gave The Railwaymen a three goal lead at half-time.

Goals from Dean Thexton and Michael Sweet increased their sides lead before Thexton added his second of the game seven minutes from time.

A brace from Chay Liddle gave Shildon an eight goal lead before Adam Storey pulled one back for Willington on the full time whistle.

The home side took the lead in the 15th minute when Craggs’ corner was met by Greulich-Smith who headed beyond Willington keeper Carl Robinson.

Shildon doubled their advantage 30 minutes in, when Cragg’s corner was met by Smith, who turned the ball into his net.

Five minutes before half-time, the hosts were awarded a penalty when David Palmer was brought down in the area.

Craggs stepped up and slotted home into the bottom corner, sending Robinson the wrong way.

Shildon nearly added a fourth in the 51st minute, when Greulich-Smith laid the ball off to Craggs on the edge of the area, only to see his thunderous effort come back off the underside of the bar.

Thexton did add his sides fourth 65 minutes in, when he robbed Robinson of the ball before calmly slotting home.

The hosts added a fifth through Michael Sweet five minutes later, as he saw his headed effort loop over the Willington stopper.

The Railwaymen increased their lead seven minutes from time, as Thexton was played through on goal before he finished beyond Robinson.

Shildon added their seventh of the game two minutes later, when Liddle cut inside and curled beyond Robinson.

Liddle completed his brace in the 88th minute when his low strike found its way into the bottom corner.

Willington added a consolation on the full time whistle, when Storey’s 25 yard free kick found its way past Shildon keeper Matthew Bateman.

FA Vase & FA Cup draws 2020/21

The draws for the 1st 2 Rounds of the FA Vase & FA Cup have been drawn today.

In the FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round we have been drawn away to Stockton Town, the game is due to be played on Tuesday September 1st. The winners of the tie will play either Nothallerton Town or Billingham Town away.

In the FA Vase 1st Qualifying Round we have been drawn at home to Chester-le-Street, the game is due to be played on Saturday 19th September. The winners of the tie will play away to Sunderland RCA.

Return of Spectators

The FA has been working closely with the Government on the return of spectators at football matches at FA National League System level and The FA will provide an update on this in due course.

Newcastle 0 Shildon 4 report by Adam Gill

Pre-Season Friendly 
15th August 2020

The Railwaymen continued their 100 percent pre-season record as they defeated Newcastle Blue Star at the Scotswood Sports Centre.

Ben Trotter gave the visitors the lead in the 54th minute before substitute Danny Craggs doubled his sides advantage.

Brandon Mallaburn added a third late on before Billy Greulich-Smith sealed the win with a penalty just before the final whistle.

Blue Star almost took the lead 18 minutes in, when a long ball over the top found Callum Johnston however he sent his strike just past the post.

Shildon almost went ahead in the 22nd minute, when Jordan Lavery cut inside, only to see his effort come back off the post.

Aidan Heywood almost gave Shildon the lead just before half-time, however his free kick went just over the bar.

The visitors took the lead when Trotter swept the ball home into the bottom corner after Greulich-Smith’s knock down.

Craggs doubled Shildon’s lead 18 minutes from time, after he got onto the end of Greulich-Smith’s pass before he arrowed his effort into the bottom corner.

Greulich-Smith completed his hat-trick of assists two minutes from time, as he laid off Mallaburn before he fired home.

Shildon were awarded a penalty late on when Craggs was brought down in the Blue Star penalty area, much to the disbelief of the home side.

Greulich-Smith stepped up and slotted home to cap off a convincing win.

Introducing…. Adam Gill

We are pleased to welcome Adam Gill to our Media Team.

Adam is a sports journalism student at the University of Sunderland, where he is entering his third year in September.

Since the start of last season, Adam has been writing for the Ebac Northern League blog, which enabled him to visit the majority of Northern League grounds.

You can read some of his articles on the website, under the blog tab. In his time at university, he has written for the university’s sports website Sportsbyte.

Joining Shildon he said “I am very happy to be joining the fantastic media team at Shildon, where I hope to see many of you when fans can return to games.”

Shildon v Silksworth CW Match Report by Adam Gill

Shildon 5-0 Silksworth CW: Match Report

 Shildon put five past Silksworth CW at Dean Street as they maintained their 100 percent pre-season record.

The home side almost took the lead in the third minute when Billy Greulich-Smith ran onto Zak Atkinson’s through ball, before taking it round Silksworth keeper Joe Clayton, however his effort was blocked on the line.

Josh Winthrop nearly gave the visitors the lead 34 minutes in, however his effort from the edge of the box came back off the post.

Atkinson found Greulich-Smith in behind just before half-time, leaving him to round Clayton and slot home.

The hosts doubled their lead on the hour mark, when Clayton misjudged a cross, leaving Michael Sweet to tap home into an empty net.

Substitute Daniel Moore increased his sides advantage when his 40 yard strike found its way beyond Clayton.

Shildon scored their fourth of the game 15 minutes from time, when Dean Thexton ran onto a loose ball before slotting home.

Silksworth went close to pulling a goal back when Andy Baxter cut inside before sending his effort just over the bar.

The home side capped off their victory late on, when Sweet’s cross found the head of Moore, who guided his header into the top corner.

With a start date for the new season planned for the 5th September, Applications for  Season Cards  for the 2020/21 season are now been taken over the internet.

Prices are

Adults – £ 100
Concessions – £ 60 (Over 65’s)
Child – £ 30 (Under 16’s)

And for Livin tenants*

Adults – £ 80
Concessions – £ 50 (Over 65’s)
Child – £ 25 (Under 16’s)

Shildon AFC – Kit Launch & Online Club Shop

Shildon AFC – Kit Partnership 


Shildon AFC announced a 3 year partnership with Motif8 who will exclusively provide the Club with all of its Club kit. The deal sees Motif8 providing kits  to the First Team, Reserves  Development Centre and Academy.In addition replica strips can be bought from the Clubs on line shop which has been launched today. The Supporters Club shop which is due to open before the season, will also stock certain items and will have samples of the Club shirts on view 


Chairman David Dent said, “ From the very first meeting I was very impressed with Motif8, their product range is great, delivery timelines fit in with what the Club expects but what they really understand is partnership working. They want the Club to be successful and have committed to supporting specific community  events which is great. I’m looking forward to working with them”
